Rosecot location also offers some fantastic local walks, cross the bridge and follow the river into Ironmills park, beautiful relaxing walk with very little traffic to concern you. Or you can stroll around the many pathways within Dalkeith Country Park. Adventure play area for children, also for us adults who still like to make the odd run down the “Tarzan Slide”.There are two lakes within the park, here you can view and feed ducks and swans. Roe Deer can often be viewed in the quieter areas of the park, same for otters and various species of flora and fauna.
10 minute drive from Rosecot can take you to Vogrie Country Park, again a children’s adventure playground, also beautiful walks through the woods. Nine hole golf course is located within the park also. You can complete your visit sipping coffee and eating cake at the Cedar Cafe which is located within the fine Baronial Mansion called Vogrie House.
